when i went to butlins as a child i recall the fun fair being open in the evening. this was really good with music playing and all the lights flashing and as a child me and my older sister loved it. The question really is why does the fair shut early now at five and wouldnt it be better closing at tea time then re open at 7 till about 10. does anyone else think this would be better and giving people a choice if they wonted to not watch a show. plus then the clubs may not get so packed as some may use the fair late odd nights

I completely agree.

At Minehead in October there was one day (may have been two days not sure) when the funfair did open late. I think it was something like 7pm-9pm for haloween.

It had a really good atmosphere with all the flashing lights going etc (no music though sadly) and redcoats running around scaring people (they were known as "deadcoats" for haloween and wore special torn and dirty redcoat jackets and had the faces painted and hair done in a spooky fashion).

The result was another choice of evening activity and a less crowded Reds and Centre Stage.

I really think they should do that every night (well not necessarily the deadcoat bit, that can be saved for Haloween)!

I never used to go the fair at night years ago when it was open more,
but i do agree that it'd be a nice idea for it to be open as mentioned 7pm-10pm and a bit music going as it has a better atmosphere at night with it all lit up :)

Its like that when I go and I go in April and October, never half term or other school hols though because its to expensive for me. So I would have thought it is every week.

when iv been they have never opened later then 5 ish

I think it would be nice to see as you never see the ride lights in their fully glory

i can understand shutting between Tea to enable the food to go down - im sure butlins dont want to supply sick bags :D

i went once at halloween too and that was the only time it was open late saturday and wednesday and never since. mmmm we should all email butlins as what harm in the summer would staying open late, oh yes they would have to pay fair attendents lol
