Just wandered who else wanted to be a Butlins' Redcoat?!? Maybe you still do or wanted to be a Red when you were younger? - I DO (Just incase you didn't know) :D

I Always To Be One When i Come Back From Butlins, Just For The Pure Fact That They Get To Stay In Butlins. In Centre Stage Alll Night. In The Centre Of Attension Of All The Shows. You Get To Meet/Stay With All The Redcoats That I Ever Fancied (V.Sad I Know But Come On I'm A Teenager And Some OF Them Are Gorgeous!) I Really Wanted To Be TheOne That Worked On "Skool Daze" And "One Big Night." Cos I Could Dance And Sing All Night.

I Really Wanted To Work In Minehead For A While Cos My Mum And Dad Both Worked There. Then Skeggy I've Been To The Most In The Past Few Years So That Basically Became My Favourite Cos I Can't Really Remember The Other Camps.

I wanna be a Redcoat cus i want to work with people and i like making people smile or happy! - I dont really like many people at my school 'cause they all think they're something special so it would be great to get the chance to work with people who respect you and you could actually get along with them without being worried about wat they think! - I like to 'entertain' people too. I can't sing, lol, I aint the worlds greatest dancer, but i find it easy to talk to people! (except on the phone, don't do phones....LOL) :D

Since 2001 - We first went to Minehead! :D - I've always wanted to work in a Holiday Resort ever since i can remember then we went to Minehead and i saw the Redcoats and loved what they did! :D

Like Haven Camps Just Have Random Bands On Most Of The Time, And Its Nice To Have A Convosation With A Redcoat, Rather Than Have People Just concerned For The Children, Redcoats Talk To People At Any Age.

Hey i just found this... I always wanted to be a redcoat... even moreso when I worked there [but I knew i was moving out to Australia so never tried] However, now I want to work on cruise ships as entertainment!!

I was inspired by an ex-minehead redcoat [christian] who now does just that. He said you get treated a lot better and that everyone does everything rather than having different grades of staff etc. Plus you get to travel the world [something I'm sure you've gathered is one of my priorities!]

Aside from the downfall of not being at butlins 24/7 does this not seem like a much more exotic option to youse all?!!

I really want to be a Redcoat when im 18! I have wanted to be once since I was little! Its all of my fave things, entertaining children, singing, dancing and acting, and meeting new people! I want to work at Skeggy, as thats the Butlins I have always been to! I am going to audition when im 18!

Good on you! From what i've read on here etc I'm sure you will make a great one! :) Plus lots of happy hands from ex redcoats to help you through it all - you're very lucky!!!!

I'm hoping to get my permanent residency over here within the next 10 months, but I am waiting for P&O to get back to me just after xmas with any positions they have available! :)

Yes definately when I was a kid I wanted to become a redcoat, for the obvious main reason that they get to live at Butlins, and also it seemed like a fun job.

Unfortunately I moved to Australia before I got the chance and now I wouldn't want to anymore because from what I have heard it is long hours of work for low pay. Also I probably don't have an outgoing enough personality for that type of job.

I would still consider some sort of work at Butlins in the future though, it's certainly a possibility I would seriously consider if / when I move back to UK.

If I could get some sort of permanent and reasonably well paid job as a staff trainer / security manager / recruitment officer / guest services manager or anything else I am qualified for I would love it!
