Middleton Tower

Due to spending my childhood summers on holiday in Morecambe (not at Pontins) and an unhealthy interest in derelict buildings, I recently paid a visit to Middleton Tower camp. I trekked along the beach to see what I could see and was excited to still see buildings!

However, while the majority of the camp still seems to be intact, i could not see any sign of the SS Berengaria. Has this been demolished? Or could it be that I missed it?

While I was pleased to see most of the views shown in the pics on this website, I was puzzled as to where the theatre was or could have been.

Can anyone help?

I know this was posted ages and ages ago, but just to update you on whats happening with the old Pontin's Middleton Towers site.

Its been finally sold, the camp is currently being demolished as we speak. The tudor barn pub is staying and another building but i can't remember which one it is. Nearly all the site is going and a Retirement Village is going to built there.

Its an urban exploration site, so if you love derelict buildings and the like, thats the best place to go.

That's a great site.
Such a shame to hear and see that Middleton Tower is finally being demolished. Had 2 nice holidays there and like many other great Pontin's camps, it now finally meets it's demise.

Hi Everybody,

I've just discovered this site and find it awesome for past and current red,blue, yellow, funstars and ents assts.

I am current Entertainments Manager at Ocean Edge Leisure park, Middleton, right next door to the old Middleton Towers. I keep a firm eye on its demolition with great sadness because I was never priveliged to go in but I am sure it must have been a great place to work and spend your holidays.:(

At the moment it is slowly being pulled down to make way for a luxury retirement village and if any past employees wish to get a last look, I suggest that you get up soon. At the same time if you do hold any reunions then you would be most welcome with us at Ocean Edge.

SHAME ALL THE OTHER PONTINS DON'T COPY MIDDLETON TOWERS,I STOPPED A QUITE A FEW RECENTLY, THE ALL NEED A RE VAMP OR GET RID!
