Hi Staff Accom At Bognor

Hi ive been working at minehead since jan 05 and ive recently applied to bognor i start there x mas . i was just wondering has anyone got any pics or any memories of how the staff accom look at bognor because to accom at minehead are huge.

I worked at butlins skegness in ents dept for along time, and my acom was home, i loved it! went to bognor 8th dec, and came home 1st jan, i hated it, the whole resort didnt seem to have the same feel at skegness. In skegness we all looked out for each other, and in bognor they dont seem to care as long as u did ur job. People not as nice. as for the accom, in skegness the most u are in is a 2 share, u have your own room and keys etc, and just share the bathroom. In bognor, i was in a 6 share, and 2 shower rooms, the showers were horrible and my bath was green, the other reds had ppl in all the time, not that im borin i had a laugh, but it got too much. i had a horrible bed and a wardrobe with one door on it, no drawers or nothin. the wall leaked and water kept coming through, noone told me and all my xmas presents got soaked and the pain off the wall ran into my duvet! u can also open the windows with a coathanger from outside so its not near as nice. when i spoke to team acom,they said they wud sort it but never did! Sometimes aswell u have to share a bedroom!! my mate did with a crazy old guy!In skeg team acom were excellent, n i loved my home, sorry if im putting you off but it was terrible

I hear the staff accom is better than it used to be at Bognor, I think the old kent block( small rooms, shared, showers and toilets down the corridor), is now only used for main catering staff that work down below in the restaurants and kitchens. When I was in chalet accomodation at Bognor (Behind the famously nicknamed 'Berlin Wall', to seperate staff and guest accomodation), it was old budget self catering accomodation, two of us shared a bedroom and the other person slept in the front. It was okay, but I preferred it at Minehead, Skegness and Pwhelli where I always had a room on my own in a shared chalet. My best friend was working and living at Bognor right up until 2003 and she was living with most of the other staff in the chalets at the back of the old village that used to be Barnham, behind the wall, it was still two or three to a chalet with some people having to share a bedroom.

I wouldn't want to do it now, but I never minded the staff accommodation and I was always lucky with my room/chalet mates and it wasn't like we ever spent much time there anyway. When I was at Pwhelli I had a single room in the Woodlands staff village and it was so quiet and peaceful away from the main amenities. I loved it, it was so nice to relax alone after work. !!!
