My girlfriends mum is taking us all on a big family holiday to Presthaven Sands in July. Never been to Haven before so just wondered if anyone knew what it was like

Its just up the road from me! About 6 miles away. I had lots of friends work there over the years, but not been there myself. Its one of the biggest, most popular camps in the area. the beaches in the area are pretty good...if you get the weather!!
As you know from past post, we go to Haven at Hafan -y Mor and have always had a great time there, .... we have small kids and Haven is perfect for them. Always found the entertainments on a par with Butlins.....but without the Redcoats!! The funstars are great with the kids, but don't see them around much other than at the kids clubs!!

I have been to presthaven sands a few times and its a great little site. we use it for a base to tour really but it has a good little pool and a couple of venues. Sorry jules, but i dont think the entertainment meets up to butlins standard but its ok.

Jules is right about the beaches though, they are excelent.

its also a stones throw away from pontins where they filmed 'holiday on the busses'...now theres a film.

Anyway, i hope you have a great time, let us know how you get on.

I have been to presthaven sands a few times and its a great little site.

Was a few years back I went, Small is not a word I would have used ! Seem to remember the site is very long and all the entertainment is at one end. we had miles to stagger on the way back to the caravan. I do remember the entertainment was pretty good.

Have Fun !!!

Its even bigger now, the site is a bit sprawling and is big in terms of area but small in terms of the entertainment bit.

Great thanks for all the replies. I am looking forward to the holiday but mainly because i havent been to Haven before. It wil also be the first holiday ive been on as an adult where I will be responsible for a child, which for me makes it even more fun as he hasnt been to a holiday camp before.

Im going to have to nip down to the Pontins camp too, see where messers Varney, Grant and Lewis filmed the classic Holiday on The Buses!!

I can't remember which Haven camp it was I went to. We only went the once but I thought it was great. My mum wasn't so keen if I remember rightly, she was a bit bored- much preferred Butlins! As a holiday camp fan though I'm sure you'll have a great time! :)

Hi, I've been to Presthaven Sands a couple of time in the last few years. The camp is certainly not small. The entertainment venue is pretty decent with a couple of main family areas I think, a sports bar and an adult bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. Be warned though when you come out of the adult bar in the early hours the arcade is absolutely rammed full of kids some toddlers. God knows where their parents are!
Decent camp but don't go there if you want a quiet holiday.

Decent little site is Presthaven sands, went in 2005 thoroughly enjoyable time we had,all the amunitites are right near each other so you dont need to treck from 1 place to another.

1000x better then the Pontins camp that is a stones throw away from Haven

We love Presthavensands ideal for families with young children, The Silver caravans are beautiful up until two years ago we always stayed in the chalets/bungalows.
