We went to Marton Mere last weekend, for a well needed break!!! We managed to get a very good online deal around Christmas time and had been looking forward to the holiday ever since. We knew the weather wouldn't be up to much as it never is in April, but nevertheless with me not being able to take off work in term time and the fact that that the baby is due in June we thought its April or no holiday this year!!!

We were booked in for a week but left on Monday night. The main reason we left was because there was nothing to do. Easter holidays down here in Kent started on the 31st March in the North they didn't start until friday 7th April.
Meaning nothing outside the camp was open. We really should have done our homework I know but it is blackpool! Any way the park was so small and there were no safe outside areas for the children to run and play (thank god we decided not to take their bikes), The caravan was so crampped and cold, we all woke up on the sunday morning coughing and sneezing, which just got worse.

I know it sounds really negative so far, we did have fun, we just ran out of money and things to do by Monday night. The nightly entertainment was quite good ~ the compare in fact was very good, don't remember his name but he looks a bit like Matt Lucus. The children did go to the Tiger club in the day time, which was ok (well dry and free) the fun stars were very very young and inexperienced and you could tell it was their first week. The parents had to join in to keep the games going.

We will be going to Butlins next summer for our family holiday no matter how much it costs, as we have come to expect that standard and will disapointed wherever else we go.
