Anyone ever been to Haven seashore in/near yarmouth. I think it's near the Caistor resort.

I went there a few times when I was younger. A few years ago I heard there was a fire at the resort, in the leisure complex. Does anyone know anything about this, or remember hearing about it, or know what happened? I cannot find anything on the internet about it.

Was just wondering for interests sake.

Thankyou. Liam.

I used to go there when I was younger, when it was run by Ladbrokes and then Warners.

The entertainment and facilities were brilliant (especially the Mermaid Club!)

It had a Grand National horse racing game plus the usual arcades, bingo etc.

It used to have both static and touring caravans.

The fire you mentioned happened at the leisure pool I think 1997/98, it's since been rebuilt.

I'd love to go there again, but I have to convince the wife!

is that the camp that is adjacent to caister, if you go round the caister camp on a bike you can end up at seashore. if you take a wrong turning. i found myself outside the pool complex after it was before the fire.:o

Wow, what memories you have brought back to me, I was one of the summer gang, factory fortnight (July) for many years and the only reason we used to return was because I would sulk and drive my parents mad unless we returned, they cancelled many a holiday abroad to bring me to Seashore and the reason why was the friends I made and who returned year after year like me, we kept in touch for years, we met when I was 14 at the segull club and I am now 36 and still intouch with a fair few, As I grew up from the segull club to the mermaid and the follies, Who remembers "Stretch" !!!.. My last return as a single girl was 1992. my most favourt years when I was old enough to get into BOOGIES!! disco was 1986, 87, 88. **1987** was the best ever!!!. (Mr Mat Hicks!). Lots of Love to old gang and any one who on here may remember me!!. (Oh, remember me binns??)

hi there, i can tell you that i have just 2 days ago come back from going to seashore, its not the same as it used to be though.

the complex where the swimming pool is now has a family pub/cafe/resturant now called 'the marsh and barrel' Yes we went there for food mainly for our breakfasts but the other food is expensive and it only seems to be a kiddies portion. i just had to complian, which got me free deserts.

the Follies bar i didnt really go into, has it has kiddies shows on the rory the tiger etc and the venue does shut at around 9pm these days. Then we have the 'Showbar' now thats good apart from the bingo which starts at 7.15pm you only play for a line not a full house and the money is rubbish.
the entertainment is ok, i ended up going on stage playing a game called 'take it or leave it' which is a game based on deal or no deal.
thats about it really as there isnt much stuff to do there now.
the beer prices arnt the bad either may i say.

:)

I worked there in 97 and 01 - loved it there but its not the same as it was!

The fire was in 98 in the old Big Top Complex, it was re-built but without a club. Follies is no longer a showbar with the quality shows of old, its the kids club now and the old Tiger Club got turned into an arcade (shocker!). Cant believe it closes at 9pm.

I think everythings just ruined now, i worked for Haven for 9 years but I refuse to go now as its just not what it was, I go to Pontins now for the weekend!

I went to Seashore at end of Sept on a ?9.50 sun holiday. We had a nice clean caravan. It was okay the only downpoint was the weather and wind from the wind farm across the camp. Also it was freezing the caravan at night due to the weather and time of year. Those small radiators do nothing! grr.......

The kids loved the swimming pool - (you can have swimming lessons with an instructor), follies and showbar as well as all the slots etc.

A good holiday.....

The best caravan park in the world(at one time).I was there when it was run by Tim Starbuck ,what a GM he was.A legend.

The limelight club (old mermaid) had an electric atmosphere. Follies presented end of the pier Shows The big top was at the Norh end of the park and included the pool complex.Thats where the fire was.

I did pop in there last year it was full of arcade machines now. Poor entertainment (Good old Bourne) why have an act when you can have a Dance Stage machine.
Seashore is on the seafront at the end of Yarmouths Golden mile about 3 miles from Caister. Tim Starbuck moved to Caister from Seashore. It was great there as well. Mark Jones was an ents manager there. Good days.
