has anyone been to blue dolphin holiday park? and can they tell me anything about it please?

We went there in 2002, but it was rather a short lived holiday. I can't remember that much, all caravans and lots of them, the swimming pool was tiny, though didn't actually get to go swimming. One venue for the evening entertainment, there was a fire drill the night we went in there. The little pub was really nice and it had a good indoor play area for the children. The entertainment is all under the one roof, i mean pool arcade, pub / resturant and pool. There is also an indoor sports centre where we played tennis.
Sorry not much help on details we arrived pm on the Monday, saw a little of the entertainment that night until fire drill, was v. tired so went back to the caravan, then spent the morning in scarborough, our son played in the outdoor play area, we had a game of tennis on the Tuesday then i went into premature labour, so spent the rest of Tuesday and most of Wednesday in Scarbourgh hospital!!!!! :???:

i worked there as a havenmate in 1997 and as a "dj" in 2002...

the dolphin used to be a cracking park until bourne leisure got there hands on it... when i went back in 2002 it had changed so much, arcade machines everywhere, and the cabarets were awful, no late nite lives, and the "funstars" .... welll my god where do they get them from!

sorry to moan in my first post but it seems as if bourne leisure are more interested in the tills ringing than people having a good time...........

yeah still there but it isnt open half the time. only tends to get opened in really peak season.
it was ok in 2004, i had a good year working there (til the complex manager from hell turned up, i hear he got fired the next year for serious fraud!!!!), met my husband there so something good came out of it!

we went there with our tourer caravan, pitch was on a serious slope, entertainment wasnt that good compared with primrose valley etc, and the toilets / showers were horrible! they didnt get cleaned that often.
we left after 2 days, we couldnt take anymore.
plus it rained constantly, he he

You were one of the lucky ones then.

I was working on Touring at PV in 2004 and we took many vans from all over because we were not that badly flooded out, (except for a few days).
I heard that the dip into Touring at BD was under 3ft of water or 3ft deep in mud for most of July / August that year.

went to blue dolphin at easter 2005.rained constantly,fog bound all weekend,fire alarm went off in venue on 1st night,and the caravan was damp and cold.plus we were flooded outside the caravan.left early.

never ever again.

yes i remember that flood well..... i spent most of that night stood in 2 foot of water in the car park trying to keep water out of the galaxy bar fire doors, then being in the complex til 6am mopping water out of the foodcourt. it was a long shift that day!!!!
and its true that the touring field was under a LOT of water that time!

we had a flood in 2002 too!

the chalets where the staff styed finished up in 2 ft of water, the food ocurt and smugglers were soaked as was the galaxy!

My family went to Blue Dolphin in September 1987. I was only 12 but I have fond memories. We stayed in a caravan and there was a large football field near us. I entered a tarzan competition and the Mickey mouse club! There was a bluecoat called Sonia who I remember well she was a bit older than all the others.
