It was Stu. The older chalets were used by staff when I stayed there. I've got some more pics somewhere I'll scan in & put in the gallery when I get chance.

when we we went there in 1984 we were in the chalets near the bmx track, and the car park. I used to like the machines u got the milk out of and the piles of toast in the morning. The food was OK but the pool was freezing.

Yes, I used to enjoy the food there. Being Self Service you could make a real pig of yourself.

Do you remember what the late night bar was called? Simply Greens or something like that..

Hi There Disco Stu.
Yes.. Hi De Hi was filmed there.
I was the Visiting Cabaret for the season in 1980.. "The Antons" Juggling & Balancing Act. We appeared on Thursday evenings.
I also did the season in 1985 with a different Wife! I met her in 1980 when she was there as a greencoat. She took over when my 1st Wife retired.
At the end of the season.. The Camp was taken over by the BBC to film Hi De Hi. We also played Extras on that too. My Wife did several series of the programme.
It was surprising how little they had to do, to convert it to a 1960 Camp!!
The Staff Chalets were used for the 1960 Chalets.
We had SO MUCH fun there & had many fond Memories of it.
It has been completely demolished and now a modern housing Estate.
With some mod cons for guests... I'm sure it would work today as a nostalgia
Holiday Camp, bringing back all the Old Time Activities. People would love to re-live the Old Days... Or would they? Who Knows?
It's too late anyway now.... Shame.
JON ANTON.
