Lived in the states for, came back gigged for a while then ended up entertainment and leieure manager for Warner, funny enough thats where Shaky ended up for a while....anyway not with them now, left about 3 years aga to spend some time with my young daughter, done a spot of property development and now I am gigging as male vox, hopefully moving to south of France next year to build my own little place. I Miss the Haven days still keep in contact with the old crew that worked for me, spoke to Debbie Walker a couple of weeks ago and I am on Cambrian Agency books. Yes Scott. Left Haven In 97. Didn't Have A Good Season. Went To Work In Private Park In Cornwall As Ents Manager. That Was For Four Seasons. Bought Taxi And Worked Up In Scotland For A Short Time. Packed That In And Worked For Shearings On Isle Of Wight, For A Few Months. Then Travelled South East Asia Taught English. And Then Ended Up Buying A Bar In Philippines Got Married Have Two Kids Now. And Occasionly Work For Butlins When I Back In Uk. Thats All Really. I Do Miss It All Though. But I Think Its All Changed Since The Early Days With Nigel, debbie, bob And Tim And Gary. They Was Good Times As You Know.

Hiya Stuart,
Don't know if you remember me at all, you came over to Gunton Hall (Warners) at the end of the summer season of 1990 for the winter period. I was one of the ents team the finished a couple of weeks after you arrived. (summer season contract). worked with Christy Dee, and under Dave Brady and Mandy Collard as Ents Managers and Carolyn Jones as Assistant Ents. (Craig Collinson and Martyn Wright before that). and then came down for a turkey and tinsel break (cos parents had booked that week to surprise me at work but contract finished 10 days before :( ) I ended up working the spotlight for a couple of the team shows during that week after being bribed a couple of times with hot chocolate and cream on top, and that premiere sparkling wine stuff we used to give out as prizes. (was a busmans holiday lmao).
Welcome to the forum, :D

Yes sal i can remember you. I kept in touch with dave and mandy they went to torquay and ran hotel down there. Sadly dave passed away a couple of years ago fom a mystery illness. Dave worked with me at filey butlins he was a stage hand there. he was known as lemsip. Chris became ents manager at gunton hall and later he joined haven like me. I was ents manager at gunton for the xmas period a few years later. I also opened the new warners park in yorkshire as they took over. What are you doing now? Did you enjoy yourself at warners? I can remember that season, it was the very last season as a family resort. I hope you have fond memories those were the good old days.

Hiya Stuart,
:( Was shocked when you said Dave had died a few years ago. :'( liked both him and Mandy. They'd asked for Me and Jimmy Atkin to work with them at Devon Coast in 91, but when we went to the Seminar at Combe Haven at the start of the 91 season, found out they'd moved from Haven-Warner then. So we had Ian Carr as Ents Manager instead. Then in 92, My teens dad was depping for Andy Beaumont (flair orchestra - resident band lol) at Devon Coast, and found out that Dave and Mandy were now at Majestic Hotel in Torquay, so arranged to go and see them. Was brilliant, and they showed us a tour of the hotel. Lost contact with them after that sadly.
Liked Gunton Hall, better when it was family resort. I remember them having the Crazy Week in the summer. and each day had a different theme. can remember them making bird wings and running off the pier thing on the boating lake and seeing who got the furthest then the winner getting a prize, that was funny lmao. Do you remember Dick, one of the security. he frightened me to death first time i ever met him, mum and dad were taking my cases up the stairs with me to my room, and he stood at the bottom raging, saying no one other than staff were allowed up those stairs, (those small stairs next to the reception :( ) had had operation couple of days before so wasn't allowed to carry anything, so mum went ballistic at him. hehehe.
Always wanted to go back to Gunton Hall and see what they'd done to it since i hadn't been back at all. then a friend won first prize in the southern country music awards raffle held at frimley green (dont ask lmao), and the first prize was a weekend at a country music event held at Gunton Hall. that gave me the excuse i needed to go back. looked even better in 2002. they'd done a brilliant job of renovations on the old place. and during the evening meal on the first night, nearly choked on my main course, when i saw Barbara walking across the restaurant. god, she was old when i was there, couldn't believe it. and saw Kevin (ex chef, now bars manager). that was a lovely surprise.
Miss it loads. but now got 2 daughters, 1 is 15 this year, Devon Coast has a lot to answer for lmao) and the youngest is 3 this year. oldest carried on from where i left off, and did dancing from 2 1/2 and finished then she was 12. now does singing, drama, gym, and ice skating. the toddler does ice skating now as well. so im basically retired hehehe. 40 this month and still got the stupid childish sense of humour ive always had, in fact i think im worse now than i was then.oh dear.
ooooooooooooooops sorry for taking over and writing an essay. :(
been hoping someone would join on here who knew me or i knew them etc. take care.
:) Sal

Hello
Worked in good old Towyn in 94 and 95, when Dame Mary Parsonage was Ents Manager, Barry Gutteridge was GM and Sid was Bars Manager!! Two great seasons spent there!! Alan Hall was the Kids Presenter and Catherine Blackburn and Claire Foden were the assistants. It was a lovey park and the staff were all great. Miss it a lot.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of this lady, could you please tell her I'm on here and want to get in touch. We worked together at Ty Mawr where she was a general HM and then ATR Leader the year after. She then went on to become a fantastic singer. We shared a caravan for the two seasons. Her cousin was Leigh Sutherland (known as leggy Leigh). He is now an Ents Manager for Park Resorts (?)
THANKS VERY MUCH EVERYONE!!!
