I've just spend 20 minutes of great nostalgia looking at this page. Loads of photos, fantastic. Hope you Clacton fans enjoy it too.

brilliant site that, thanks. I had a chalet at the top of the stairs one holiday. space to put a sun chair. don't ask me what number but it was in line A opposite the staff chalets. we like being upstairs too. there was always a sign at the beginning of the chalet lines, asking people to be quiet after 11 at night.

Seen this before, it's in the links on the mainsite.
Still a great site though and one I have visited several times as it has been updated reasonably regularly.
Can't remember anything about my Clacton holidays other than it was always cold on the east coast of England. But like all the other Butlins sites, it's still a true reflection of all the different camps of old.

I loved the site and memories of Clacton. Its so sad to think they closed theses camps. I was upset to see pictures of Pwllheli now. I spent many summers with my family there growing up. I cant go back there now as it just wouldnt be the same. I dont want this to happen to the three camps left as it would be a very sad day. Keep Butlins alive and bring your kids as much as possible (show this to your dad raani) hehe
