haven parks were classed into 4 categories based on the size of the park and what was on it, a few years ago they sold off the bottom two grades, most went to park resorts.

Things were never the same after they took over! It was all money, money, money and how much more can we get out of the guests. In 93 when I first started with Haven, there were prizes and medallions and mugs and stuff to give away but BL put a stop to all that. Even cut down on certificates! It was amazing the lengths that guests would go to to win a certificate or a medal or a mug! They were literally begging for them!!! It was funny to us but they treat it like the Oscars!

when i went to perran sands in 2002 and picked up the caravan keys, there was a pair of old "used" pants from a previous guest on one of the beds!! LOL

Kazza,
I agree with you, as Havenmate 96'-99' the guests would literally beg for a mug or medal, and that was part of what made there holiday, to see how many certificates and medals they could win, and their faces lit up when they got one. (luckily I managed to keep a few of the yellow mugs and blue mugs)
I worked at Head Office for BL in 02'-04' and it was so noticable the haggling to get cheaper cabarets and prizes then.
gone are the days.........

How can they be one of the worst? They win the industry prizes for the best holiday company every year. Their managment hold every top position in Butlins. I agree they have diluted entertainment but you have to ask why? Have the named acts gotten so greedy that they have priced themselves out of the market. Sorry Paul, with out them there would be no Butlins, I cant agree with you on that one.
