Havenmate 96

Does anyone remember their old ents managers?
Mine were Ian Carr at Duporth 96' and 97'. The resident Band was 3D and Jim Hutton played in the Barn Bar. General Manager was David Jelffs in 97'
Steven Swaine at Lyme Bay 97'-99'. The resident Band leader was Geoff Winters (in Lyme Lights) and I can't remember the name of the band in Harbour Lights, but Steve was band leader and Bogey played drums. the General Manager was Peter Raven (he then left to form part of Renowned Holidays)
Both Ents Managers were very "old school" and I learnt a lot from them both.
Does anyone know if they still do Havenmate of the year, or the funstar equivilent?

ooooooooooh Ian Carr is a blast from the past. He was my old Entertainments Manager when I worked at Devon Coast HV in 1991. Then the year after in 92 he went to Duporth HV. Travelled down to have a look around Duporth and visit him when my ex was depping in the band (Flair) at Devon Coast. T he General Manager was Neil Cleary.
In 1990, at Gunton Hall HV, my first Ents Managers were Craig Collinson and Martin Wright, with Carolyn Jones as Asst Ents, then they left at the end of the season, and we then had Dave Brady and Mandy Collard as joint Ents Managers. The General Manager was Stewart Gallagher.
Cheers,
:) Sal
ps. Does anyone know where either Craig Collinson, Martin Wright, Carolyn Jones, Mandy Collard, or Ian Carr are working nowadays? or if any of them are on facebook or myspace? Would be great to catch up with them at some point again.

Nat,
I can't believe they have done away with the gala dinners, they were the highlight of the seminars. I was lucky enough to win Havenmate of the year for the 96 season, and they had trumpeters blowing a fanfare as I went up on stage, how can they take that away from the funstars? It was also a chance for everyone to see the new shows etc.
Are they just trying to save money/cut costs, what a shame...
Its a totally different company nowadays, they wont spend unless they need to! The year I left we had regional seminars but then all got together for a gala still, I know people who still work there and they only have regional seminars now its ridiculous. I left as it wasn't the same company I started working for in 97! All they cared about was sales, I wasnt judged my the standard of entertainment just how much money I was helping to make! I won the Special Achievement Award in 2003 which was a great moment for me but I got a glass bowl on a stand with no engravement!!!!

I saw Nigel Hudston last week he confirmed it. I also saw Mark Jones who told me it was the case.
On a more cheery note manic the parrot is deceased.Great news for the audience not so great news for Jonesy he did the voice.
