In 2002 we booked a summer tent holiday in Seaview Haven Holiday Park. About 3 weeks before we were due to arrive there we got a letter through the post saying that we were unable to stay on the site as there had been a fire and most of the Entertainment Complex had burnt down.

All that remains today of the old Entertainment Complex is the indoor swimming pool which was joined onto the back of the old Entertainment Complex behind the old "Ball Pit" which got completly demolished by the flames. The outdoor swimming pool also remains the same, unharmed by the blaze as it is across the road from the Enterntainment Complex.

What I would like to know is if anyone else has any information on the fire. Because I really want to know what started it and where it started.

Not sure if there was ever a fire at Seaview, but I know there was one at Seashore, Great Yarmouth, in the main entertainment complex.

Is that the one you mean?

Seashores fire was in the bigtop complex not the main entertainment centre. The fire at Seaview was later .It burned the complex down and started in the retail catering area.(they all do).

I had been to Seaview before the fire. It had a club room with small fast food restuarant a pub and a smallish indoor pool in the complex area. Ladbroke holidays owned it when I first went there. At that time the manager was David Jelfs. Ladbroke became Warner then changed to Haven. Haven already owned Weymouth bay and the two parks were joined together. It still runs as Haven and is owned by our friends Bourne Leisure,
At the time of the fire I think the general manager was Carl Castledine but I could be mistaken . I have not been to Seaview after fire.
Carl castledine now owns his own Holiday parks on the isle of Weight. You should follow him around hes agreat guy.

Hi I was meant to work at seaview that year when the plaxe burnt down in was 2000. the fire started in the boiler room of the swimming pool plant room and it spread from there. We were doing show rehursals when the alarms went off. Our ents team was split up with me going to Ty Mawr for the rest of the season (now park resorts) I have paper clippings of the fire still.
