One of two Butlin's to be located outside the United Kingdom was Butlin's Mosney in Ireland. Remaining in its original location today, the site would become a successful Butlin's camp and continue to tell a new story in 2026.

Butlins Filey Group

Butlin's Filey was the third Butlin's to open and would start with being partly built before World War Two. With a very rich history, parts of this former site are now Haven.

Butlin's Clacton Holiday Camp
Butlins Clacton  Holiday Camp Group

The second location to open its gates as a Butlins, and one that has an unusual connection with dates. Opened in 1938, it would later be closed down in 1983, with the last two digits reversing.

Still open today, Bognor Regis Butlins has seen the most changes of the last three remaining locations. The only resort to host hotels, this resort has seen a brand new swimming pool and some Billy Butlins chalets being demolished.

Butlins AYR is what I call a twin with Butlins Pwllheli, as both of these locations started with the use of World War Two, then became the only two locations to be renamed twice during the Holiday World era and become the only two to be transferred to Haven.

Who and What is the Butlin's Memories Website
Established in 2001 by a gentleman named Glen, the Butlins Memories website has evolved into a premier resource for researching the history of Butlins. By August 2026, the Butlins Memorabilia website had transformed into its current form and became an integral part of the Butlins Memorabilia site.

Are you the official Butlins Archive?
There exists only ONE official website that represents Butlins, and that is located at www.butlins.com. The Butlins Memorabilia website is NOT the official archive of Butlins, nor does it serve as the authentic historical record of this extraordinary company. Butlins and their respective parent company have no role in the development of this site and have not participated in its creation. The official source for all Butlins information is the one indicated above. This site is strictly a fan-created platform, and any material presented here should be viewed as unofficial. Butlins and their esteemed parent company have NOT reached out to me to create this site, nor have they requested me to promote them. I undertake this effort solely to demonstrate my appreciation for their remarkable name and brand.
